Our Story

For the Golfer You're Becoming.

Iron Muse bridges the gap between wanting to play golf and becoming a golfer.

Wanting to play is one thing. Knowing where to start, learning the game, finding people to play with, and stepping onto a course feeling like you belong there. That's something else entirely. We created Iron Muse to make that journey less intimidating, more fun, and something you don't have to figure out alone.

Start Your Journey

Golf by the Numbers

The Game Is Growing. Beginners Need More.

108M
people play golf worldwide — an all-time record
21M
Americans want to play but haven't started yet
3M+
new players step onto a course every year
75%
of first-timers quit within a year without support

"Every year, 3 million people fall in love with golf. And every year, most of them walk away."

Not because the game isn't for them. Because nobody built anything for them. No coach that meets them where they are. No community that understands what it feels like to be new. No plan that turns a spark of interest into a lifelong love of the game.

There are 108 million golfers in the world. There are 21 million more who want to join them. Iron Muse Academy exists for the space in between — the moment you decide to start, and the journey that makes you stay.

This is the beginning you deserve.

The Gap

There's a gap between wanting to play and becoming a golfer.

Maybe you've thought about learning for years.

Maybe you've been invited to play but didn't feel ready.

Maybe you've hit a few buckets at the range and realized you have no idea what you're doing.

Or maybe you've already started, but "golfer" still doesn't feel like your word.

The questions everyone asks…

Where do I start? What do I need? Who do I play with? Am I ready for a real course? What if I'm terrible?

Those questions keep a lot of people from finding out how much they might love this game.

Iron Muse exists to help you cross that gap.

Rachelle Crowder, co-founder of Iron Muse

We Know Because We Lived It

Hi, I'm Rachelle.

I didn't grow up playing golf. For a long time, golf was something Jared did while I rode along.

Then I decided I wanted to stop watching and start playing.

It was humbling. Whiffs. Awkward moments. A lot of things everyone else seemed to know that I didn't. It took me months just to make consistent contact with the ball.

But I kept showing up. I practiced, I asked questions, and I celebrated little wins that probably meant nothing to anyone else, but meant everything to me.

Slowly, golf started to feel different. I got more comfortable. I played more. I worried less. And I had a lot more fun.

Somewhere along the way I realized I wasn't someone trying to learn golf anymore.

I was a golfer.

Jared and I built Iron Muse for everyone standing where I once stood, because you shouldn't have to feel like a golfer to start becoming one.

— Rachelle

Why Iron Muse?

Because golf has two sides.

Iron

For the Challenge.

Golf is hard. It takes patience when nothing's working, persistence to hit another ball after the last one went somewhere you definitely didn't intend, and courage to step onto a course while you're still figuring it out.

We don't pretend the hard part isn't there.

Struggling doesn't mean you don't belong. It means you're learning.

Muse

For the Joy.

Golf is also supposed to be fun. Creative. Social. Beautiful. Ridiculous. Rewarding.

It's laughing with your group, being outside, traveling somewhere new, and hitting that one pure shot after twenty bad ones that makes you forget all twenty.

Hard and fun at the same time. That's Iron Muse.

The Journey

Learn. Connect. Become.

Becoming a golfer isn't one moment. It's a journey.

01

Learn.

Start where you are. Understand the basics, build your skills, and ask questions without feeling like you were supposed to know it already.

No assumptions. No judgment.

02

Connect.

Golf gets easier when you're not doing it alone. Find people to practice and play with.

Share the bad shots. Celebrate the good ones.

03

Become.

You book the tee time. You show up knowing what to bring and what to do. You still hit bad shots, because every golfer does, but they don't make you question whether you belong.

One day you realize you're not trying to become a golfer anymore. You are one.

We're Still Becoming, Too

"Becoming a golfer isn't a before-and-after picture. It's everything in between."

Rachelle is still learning. That's the point. We're not building Iron Muse from the perspective of someone who forgot what beginning feels like. We're building it while we live it.

So you'll see the good shots, and definitely the bad ones. The range sessions, the golf trips, the frustration, the progress, and the laughs.

Follow the Journey

You don't have to be good at golf to be a golfer.

No score to shoot. No handicap to reach. No test to pass.

If you're learning, practicing, playing, and discovering you love this ridiculous game, you're a golfer.

And if you're still at the beginning wondering whether golf is for you:

YOU BELONG HERE.

Your journey starts where you are.

Never held a club? Been thinking about it for years? Just played your first nine? Wherever you are, start there. We'll help you take the next step.
